:)

It's finally a new year that brings our second year :) I can't believe how fast it went!
Let's see, in that year we:
  • Moved 4 times
  • Change our degrees... a lot of times
  • Celebrated our second year together (that we started dating)
  • Made it through without cable and/or internet
  • Learned... WAY too much about each other ;)
  • Decided who cooks the meat and who cooks... everything else!
  • Gotten to know and love each others family more
  • Made some really good new friends and grew a stronger relationship with old friends
  • Took a semester off school
  • Watched 5 seasons of CSI: Miami and debated Horatio Caine (who I think sucks!)
  • Laughed, cried, loved, argued
It's been so fun and I'm so excited for this year to come. We finally got cable and internet. We finally start back to school on January 18th. I say finally, but I'm really not that excited to be working 7-4 M-F and going to class 6-8:50 M-TH. And I'll see Cory WAY less:( But I am determined, so I know I (we) can do it.

Cory and I were talking the other night about missing College Station... It's weird because we were so excited to leave, and we sure did leave in a hurry too! But now we're considering moving back after this semester is over! haha. I think we're really going to do it, and it kind of excites me! We're still living in Bartlett. Not loving it, but it's a place to live, so how do you complain about that!

I don't have any recent pictures. I don't remember the last time we took one. We really need a camera! Every time we get dressed up I try to remember to take a picture but I never do! Life is good though. We're madly in love with each other and we're looking forward to all the exciting things coming up this year :D

Here's to the early days (:

Life as we know it

So I just recently had my 21st birthday! Cory and I had Saturday, Sunday, and Monday off together. Very rare! Friday I got my hair cut...short! And Cory dyed my hair (neck, ears and forehead) dark brown! Saturday my parents, Amy and Adrian, Chelsea and Dan all came for dinner, cake and presents...as a surprise! Then Cory and I saw a movie! Sunday was my actual birthday and we went to his grandparents and parents for lunch, presents and cake! Then church with some lazy to follow. And Monday we were lazy! It was one of the best weekends we've had in a long time!
Weekend after (this past weekend) I went to College Station for dinner and dancing with Ashley, Summer, Marley and Leanna. Went to a tent sale and got Cory and I A&M shirts. Cory can't live without buying a new one every now and then! Really though, it's true. Because when I finally saw him Saturday night, he was wearing one he bought that morning. Totally made my surprise not as exciting!

All in all, I think this year was my best birthday year ever! If anyone has pictures, please post them or send them to me:)

For a quick life update. The day care is great! One of those unexpected surprises life throws at you. Cory didn't get the full-time job at HEB, but he is working in GM as opposed to being a checker, so he likes that! We got called as the CTR 6 teachers in primary. Joy:) Cory's dang car broke down, but luckily his Grandma is letting us borrow hers. But we should have it fixed in a few weeks and I think we'll finally feel settled in! We decided to stop stressing so much...it feels really good! The past is completely behind us...our financial struggles, our piddly arguments, friends that don't take time anymore (which happens to be a lot, but don't blame us, we tried!). Corny, I know, but it makes life so much more enjoyable! I highly encourage it to everyone!

I Never Said It Would Be Easy, I Only Said It Would Be Worth It

4th post. Go me:) We haven't had Internet in I don't know how long, so I guess I'll try updating with my phone!

Well it seems like our lives are ever-changing. Change like this is very challenging for me, for us. It wasn't until Sunday I heard this quote, "I Never Said It Would Be Easy, I Only Said It Would Be Worth It..." not for the first time, but again. So I'm trying to live by it.

I never started the nanny job. Or the nanny job that I got hired for after not starting the first one. So naturally, after almost a month and a half of not having a job, I accepted the first offer that was handed to me. ...And you guessed it, Pre-School. Yay. But I can't complain, it's a job. A Full-Time one at that. And those are hard to come by these days! At least I'm working with the infants/toddlers.

Cory just interviewed to be a Full-Time employee for HEB. Yes, this whole time he's just been Part-Time. Of course Part-Time can work 39.9 hours and still not be considered Full-Time (crap), but he's been doing that. So cross your fingers please! The benefits would be a nice addition to the hours he's working. He's really started to like HEB, enough to maybe grow with the company and make a career out of it. HEB is a pretty great company.

We lived with his Aunt and Uncle and two cousins for about 5 weeks, and that was absolutely wonderful. They are an amazing family and we're so happy to have had that chance to get to know them better! But we are still glad to finally be on our own, again, in the small town of Bartlett, Texas. I'm not use to small towns, but he grew up around here, so he loves it. And I'm glad to be here with him.

I'd like to give a shout out to his family and mine for being so darn helpful these past few months. Seriously. Probably wouldn't be here without y'all.

We are very blessed. The Gospel is amazing.

Lots of changes.

Dude, this thing is rough to keep up with! I don’t know what I was thinking starting our own blog. However, I will try harder to update y'all on our lives more often!

As stated, lots of changes!
1.) I got the job at Reynolds and Reynolds that I wanted as a Hotline Representative. I liked it a lot and cousin Liz actually helped me get it :)  I only worked there for a short time though because Cory transferred to the H.E.B. in Temple, to be closer to family and also a few other reasons.  (such is life)

2.) I did finally get a job, a nanny job.  (it feels like I've been looking for one for forever, but it's just been a few weeks)!  Hopefully it's not too good to be true because it sounds like an awesome job and I start next week!  I'll be watching two boys.  I'm going to stop there and not go into great detail about the family just for safety reasons.  But I am very excited.

3.) We found a place to live, temporarily.  Actually, we're going to live with his Aunt for like a week and a half and then live in an apartment temporarily until our good friends, Matt and Missy, finish the rental their building on their property, then we'll move in there.  And hopefully be settled for a while! Because I am going a little nuts with all these changes and not really knowing or being in control with all that's happening with our new lives!

All of this seems like a very bittersweet change in our lives.  We're very sad to leave our friends here in College Station.  I know it'll be a hard adjustment for me, considering I hardly know anyone. He, however, knows a lot more people considering he got baptized into the ward we're moving into and it is where he grew up! But I do know some people and although it's bittersweet, we're both really very excited!

I think that's all for now, I mean, I'm sure there's more!...

But, until next time

Since we've gotten married...

Cory continues to work at H.E.B. Grocery.  He doesn't "love" it, but he thinks he'll stick with it til he gradutes... Only thing, he hasn't decided yet between being a Nurse or doing something with Agriculture.  I'll support him with whatever decision he makes.  So for now he is working on getting his basics behind him because he'll need them with whatever major he chooses.

I am not currently in a job.  I tried out a few more day care jobs... but that's not gonna work for me for now!  I'm trying out something new and I have had a few (4 to be specific) interviews with Reynolds and Reynolds so far and I should find out today or tomorrow if I got the job.  I'm really excited about it because I really think I'll like to start working in the clerical field.  I'll keep you up to date :)  I'm majoring in Education, but I want to do more of something like being a counselor/mediator in Middle School or High School or one day, open my own day care.

We got a puppy.  Today he is 4 months old exactly.  His name is Shiner.  He is a Rhodesian Ridgeback and super cute and super protective!  For some info: The Rhodesian Ridgeback is a dog breed developed in Southern Africa where it was used to hunt lions/to distract a lion while awaiting their master to make the kill. This is most likely why this dog is known for its bravery. Its European forebears can be traced to the early pioneers of the Cape Colony of southern Africa, who crossed their dogs with the semi-domesticated, ridged hunting dogs of the Khoikhoi.

Life is good :)
